IN PERSON: 40 Hour Waste Site Worker Completion

COST: $460 for 40-hour completion. This is a separate course fee from the 24-hour training and includes all materials and equipment.

The total combined cost for the initial 24-hour and the 40-hour completion is $870.

The University of Minnesota offers 2-day in-person 40-hour technician level hazardous materials completion for participants who have completed initial Operations Level hazardous materials training as defined under 29CFR1910.120.

To be admitted to a 40-hour completion course at UMN, participants MUST provide the following information to the UMN hazmat program before registering:

  • Name of course provider/training institution where operations training was completed.
  • Copy of training course objectives/agenda
  • Certificate of completion with trainee’s name, that is no more than 18 months old.

Following review of the above, participants may register for the 40-hr completion course. Documentation MUST be provided to UMN before participants can register for the completion course. There are no exceptions to this policy.

COURSE DESCRIPTION:

The course builds on the 24 hour training and integrates 16 hours of additional training including instructional activities, lectures, discussions, classroom demonstrations, and small group exercises.

This course offers 40 Continuing Education Hours.

The 40-hour completion course is in person.

NOTE: All participants in the 40-Hour Waste Site Worker Training are required to have a physician complete a medical evaluation and clearance form prior to the course.

HYBRID16 Hour Mold Remediation
May 23 @ 8:00 am – May 24 @ 4:00 pm

Mold remediation courses provide an overview of activities involved with mold remediation and are designed to train individuals who are or who anticipate being employed at a mold remediation work site. Activities in this courses could include sampling techniques available to find hidden mold and the limitations of these techniques, how to identify the most common fungi related to water damage and health hazards, methods to prevent water events and mold growth in buildings, emergency response plans, protective equipment, and control containment or confinement.

This course offers Continuing Education Units.

Please note this is a HYBRID course.  The first day is online and the 2nd day is in-person.
